I'm all for logging, but why cut down such an old and massive tree?

That looked like a good days work. How in the world are you going to get out of the woods. What logging truck could handle even a small section of it. WOW.

Um...let them die on their own. Not all trees exist simply to be 'used'. A dead tree that size puts a huge amount of organic matter into the soil and provides habitat for many species. 'Use' plantation grown trees or smaller trees in selectively-cut managed lots.

I see your point on the old trees, but they'll die on their own if you dont cut them. The difference is, we cant use them once they're dead and rotten. You have a wonderfull day, as well.

I know we need wood...but these ancient trees should be saved. There are programs to replant which is great, I know we can't wait 1,000 years for them to grow back. I would just like to save these ancient marvels before they are all gone and all we have are pictures of how the forest used to look like. Have a wonderful day! Everyone has to make a living somehow....

Go ahead, and make people ban cutting trees down, popsvideos.....but first, practice wiping your ass with plastic...cause there'll be no paper.

awesome. that would heat my house for several years. Plus with all the spotted owls that died in the fall, I could keep my freezer full of meat for a good 6 months.

There should be a law against cutting these trees! Actually there is...man is just to stupid to understand the universe! Well the loggers are obviously! I Feel so sad for the earth......
